Born in Bosnia and Herzegovina and educated in Canada, Vedran began his international education career in 2001 and has since spent more than 25 years working across Europe in international schools. After appointments in Canada and Sweden, Vedran joined the International School of Stuttgart in 2009, where he currently serves as Senior School Assistant Principal. Previously as a programme coordinator, Vedran led the development and recognition of IB Middle Years Programme, alongside teaching DP and MYP Chemistry and Mathematics.
Throughout his career, Vedran has been committed to improving student learning outcomes through thoughtful leadership, strong systems, and evidence-informed practice. He has led whole-school and K-12 curriculum reviews aligned with IB principles, guided successful IB self-study and accreditation processes, and supported the development of robust governance, assessment through the implementation the MYP eAssessments, and data-use frameworks. Central to his work is a strong focus on student welfare, safeguarding, wellbeing, and equal access to the curriculum.
Throughout his career Vedran has played a key role in building professional learning cultures, mentoring middle and senior leaders, and developing pastoral care and transition programmes across the upper school. He has also fostered meaningful partnerships with universities, professional networks, and humanitarian organizations, supporting innovation, service learning, and community engagement.
Outside of school, Vedran enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, cooking, listening to music, and attending live sporting events and other interests that continue to shape his global perspective and commitment to international education.
