Funding the IB Toolkit

This page provides interested, candidate, and authorized International Baccalaureate® (IB) World Schools information, budgets, tools, and resources for sustainable financial planning. These can be used for short and long-term budget planning, presenting the IB and its programmes to stakeholders, as well as working with foundations and philanthropy investing in your school, schools, or district. These resources are for US schools only.

The International Baccalaureate

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) offers four international education programmes for students aged 3-19, all united by the IB philosophy and approaches to teaching and learning.
IB programmes aim to do more than other curricula by developing internationally minded people who recognize their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, and work to create a better and more peaceful world.

You can learn more about the International Baccalaureate here.

The IB journey

The IB journey is one of reflection, inquiry, and growth as a school. However, your school will not walk the journey alone. We work together throughout your school’s journey - with a shared vision and passion - to deliver our mission of creating a better world through education; to grow our diverse community of schools; and increase access to excellent education for students of all backgrounds. The IB Journey: Becoming an IB World School visualizes the process while citing key components along the way. Access The IB journey

Funding the IB

Funding the IB is easier than it seems. Below is an overview of funding opportunities frequently used by IB schools to expand access, grow programming, or start the IB journey in the United States. Access Funding the IB: Did You Know

IB cost planner

The IB cost planner and the IB Programme Start-Up Cost Estimates summarize fees, professional development, and other considerations when becoming an IB World School. The tools can be used with diverse stakeholders, alongside one another when determining short and long-term budget cycles, working on grants and philanthropy, or simplifying the overall process of IB authorization. The IB Cost Planner is a great tool for determining overall annual costs and the Cost Estimates display each of our programme’s services and fees.
